Trove Wallpaper

January 14, 2012

Sorry for the long lapses inbetween posts.  I have been wildly unproductive during this last trimester of my pregnancy.  I did, however, encounter some inspiration today.  Trove has me wanting to wallpaper every room in my house…

Festive Animal Shot Glasses

December 16, 2011

Screen Shot 2011-12-16 at 3.38.48 PM

Now that I’ve delivered these to most of the recipients I bought them for, I guess it is safe to post one of my favorite finds this season.  I love these animal shot glasses, available at Forty Five Ten. So festive and fun, and they stand on their heads too.  At first glance you don’t even realize they function as bar ware.  $30 each, available in bear, lion, horse, reindeer, and eagle.

My dream house is a Santa Barbara-style contemporary Mediterranean, so an architect friend forwarded this current post on Design Sponge my way.  The scene-stealing rug makes me want to book a trip back to Morocco–my biggest regret from that trip three years ago is that I did not bring back more rugs!  Design Sponge is full of all sorts of home inspiration, and I just saw the author’s coffee table book at West Elm.  A perfect gift for those who love creative interiors.

My distraction from Legacy Labs

November 8, 2011

Dear Readers,

Here is why I have not posted in a week:

Or at least she is one of the reasons.  This perfect pup, a white Labrador, came from Legacy Labs.   I’ve already had one friend fall in love and adopt one of her siblings.  There are a couple left in this litter if you are ready to meet your new best friend.

Now off to guard the shoes.

St. Michael Women’s Exchange – Dallas

October 21, 2011

Forget gift wrapping this holiday season.  I just saw the most gorgeous sparkling boxes for about $20 each, already decorated with Christmas trees, jingle bells, snowflakes, etc.  They are more beautiful than any wrapping scenario you can think of, plus you can reuse them year after year, or display them as decorations.  And speaking of decorating, St. Michael Women’s Exchange in Highland Park Village may turn you into one of those crazy, over-the-top decorating types.  I glanced at the Christmas selections.  The trees, the ornaments–all gorgeous.  And so many great gifts for babies, weddings, and more.  Read about how this unique store gives back to the community here.

Somehow a catalog from King Ranch Saddle Shop ended up in my mailbox, and this leather iPad cover with notebook and pen holder looks like a perfect gift for a corporate/sporty/or rancher dude.  $156

The Portland Collection by Pendleton

October 6, 2011

Pendleton Woolen Mills, a century-old Pacific Northwest company known for it’s Native American inspired blankets, rugs, and apparel, has teamed up with three Portland-based designers to debut a more fashionable line–The Portland Collection–which still embodies the classic heritage of Pendleton.  It caught my eye in a few fashion magazines, and when the new Anthrolopolgie catalog arrived, there is was again.

“Favorite Throw” Is Seriously About To Be Your Favorite Throw

October 4, 2011

Picture 33

I was at a meeting at a friend’s house this morning, and we decided to sit outside and enjoy the crisp fall air.  As we moved outside to her patio, she came out with a basket of the most deliciously comfortable throw blankets, which seemed like lightweight cashmere.  The friend I am writing about happens to be one of the most stylish people I know, so I’m thinking the blankets probably came from Barneys and no doubt cost a fortune.  Wrong.  They are from West Elm, and are you ready?  $29 each.  They happen to be appropriately named “favorite throw.”
