I’ve received two emails today about this blog, so you guys must still want to read about new finds despite my extended vacation from writing lately. I found them at ABC Carpet and Home in New York, and I’m not going to admit how many pieces I bought for the baby’s room. I seriously cannot get enough. A new favorite find on Etsy: painted antlers by MadeByCassandraSmith. All antlers are shed naturally by the animals, found in the woods, and then painted by the artist. Coolest home accessory I’ve seen in awhile.

Thanks to my husband, our friend Paul (a graphics designer), and City Sign (the company that does our “Open” signs at the restaurants), I now have a cool neon installation over a guest bed in our house. Every time I walk into chic boutique Forty Five Ten, their neon, which reads “Happiness Is Expensive,” makes me smile. It just took me a year to figure out an expression fitting of our family/our house/our lives. And the phrase also works well over a bed. Not a bad idea for a Valentine’s or anniversary gift, don’t you think?

Now that I’ve delivered these to most of the recipients I bought them for, I guess it is safe to post one of my favorite finds this season. I love these animal shot glasses, available at Forty Five Ten. So festive and fun, and they stand on their heads too. At first glance you don’t even realize they function as bar ware. $30 each, available in bear, lion, horse, reindeer, and eagle.

My dream house is a Santa Barbara-style contemporary Mediterranean, so an architect friend forwarded this current post on Design Sponge my way. The scene-stealing rug makes me want to book a trip back to Morocco–my biggest regret from that trip three years ago is that I did not bring back more rugs! Design Sponge is full of all sorts of home inspiration, and I just saw the author’s coffee table book at West Elm. A perfect gift for those who love creative interiors.
