The Portland Collection by Pendleton

October 6, 2011

Pendleton Woolen Mills, a century-old Pacific Northwest company known for it’s Native American inspired blankets, rugs, and apparel, has teamed up with three Portland-based designers to debut a more fashionable line–The Portland Collection–which still embodies the classic heritage of Pendleton.  It caught my eye in a few fashion magazines, and when the new Anthrolopolgie catalog arrived, there is was again.

“Favorite Throw” Is Seriously About To Be Your Favorite Throw

October 4, 2011

Picture 33

I was at a meeting at a friend’s house this morning, and we decided to sit outside and enjoy the crisp fall air.  As we moved outside to her patio, she came out with a basket of the most deliciously comfortable throw blankets, which seemed like lightweight cashmere.  The friend I am writing about happens to be one of the most stylish people I know, so I’m thinking the blankets probably came from Barneys and no doubt cost a fortune.  Wrong.  They are from West Elm, and are you ready?  $29 each.  They happen to be appropriately named “favorite throw.”

Dirt Flowers – Dallas

July 13, 2011

Passed by the lovely new downtown storefront of Dirt Flowers today and fell in love through the window.   I would have taken a photo, but some child I know was not cooperating.  You really need to check it out, but in the meantime, here are a couple of bouquets from their website.  The modern arrangements in the window were of the sunflower and succulent variety.  Looks like a much-needed addition to downtown.  They also do weddings and home arrangements.  And there is a Bishop Arts location.
